It’s not the task at hand that’s important, it’s the strategy behind it.
This past weekend was quite the weekend for PDX, with Crafty Wonderland and The Portland Bazaar. Helping out AIGA PDX at Crafty W. gave me the opportunity to check out all the amazing artisans and artists who were at the event. It was especially nice to see some new work by Jolby & Friends. Jolby is speaking at Creative Mornings on Friday at Ziba, they are quite the dream team of illustrator/designer talent.

Other amazing artists/crafter to note:
a tea leaf (Vintage Jewelry and prints of tea leaves)
Amy Ruppel (She has some amazing new prints)
The Black Apple(Storybook Art)
Betsy & Iya(Incredible Jewelry)
Little Otsu(They make beautiful art books)
And so many more, see the complete listing here: http://craftywonderland.com/vendors/
They have some great gift options, so if you’re still looking for that perfect stocking stuffer or something special, think local.
Preachers on the podium speakin’ to saints..
Prophet on the sidewalk beggin’ for change,
Old ladies laughing from the fire escape, cursing my name.
I got a basket full of lemons and they all taste the same,
A window and a pigeon with a broken wing,
You can spend your whole life workin’ for something
Just to have it taken away.
People walk around pushin back their debts.
Wearing pay checks like necklaces and bracelets,
Talking ‘bout nothing, not thinking ‘bout death,
Every little heartbeat, every little breath.
People walk a tight rope on a razors edge
Carrying their hurt and hatred and weapons.
For those of you who know me, you already know that I should have a lot more free time over the next month or so. So it’s art & project time!
I’m super excited to create a new set of art, my prints and paintings are all looking a little bit dated these days. In addition to new art I will be working on a blog about health and happiness, “And the Lost Girls”. (Named after the lost of boys of Peter Pan of course.) I warn you that it’s not much now but plans to become more robust in the coming 3 months.
As for art & inspiration I will try and keep it coming here on the Tumblr blog.
Here’s a peek at some new work in progress:
